GCCI – Interactive Meeting with delegations from Republic of Korea
GCCI President Ajay Patel welcomed the delegations to the core of International Partnership. He expressed the potential for shared prosperity through cooperation, citing its impact on economic growth, innovation and trade.
Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry held an interactive meeting with the leading representative of the Republic of Korea business-industry on 8th December 2023. This interaction with the business-industrial representatives from Republic of Korea and Gujarat was fruitful and created an atmosphere for potential cooperation. .
Senior Vice-President – GCCI Mr. Sandeep Angir, thanked the delegation for visiting the chamber and highlighted the role of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been the apex body of trade and industry in Gujarat for more than seven decades. He said the meeting is a significant opportunity for further strengthening and synergy between Korea and Gujarat.
The following representatives were present in the leading delegation of the Republic of Korea.
1. Dr. Seung Tae Kim, 20th Member of the National Assembly (Republic of Korea) and President of the Korea Future Forum
2. Mr. Yog-chan Kim, Chairman of WooriByul (Defense Manufacturing Company)
3. Mr. Do-Kyong Jeong, General Manager, SP Systems (Industrial Robotics Manufacturing Company)
4. Mr. Dandy c. Song, Chairman of Korean Shipping Association, Founder of Pioneer Group of Companies (Shipping and Logistics Companies)
5. Mr. Jun Yang Jung, Former Chairman, POSCO
6. Mr. Taiyog Lee, Managing Director, Doha India Pvt. Lee.
During the meeting, the delegations had an in-depth discussion on potential areas of cooperation including defence manufacturing, industrial robotics, steel industry, shipping, logistics & infrastructure planning and provided an exchange of ideas and information between the state of Gujarat and the Republic of South Korea will prove very useful regarding future partnerships.
Mr. Anil Jain, Chairman of the GCCI’s International Trade Task Force, expressed gratitude at the end of the meeting.
